CICTE is the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism, the only regional entity whose aim is to prevent and combat terrorism in the Americas. CICTE promotes cooperation and dialogue among member states to counteract terrorism–in accordance with the principles of the OAS Charter, the Inter-American Convention against Terrorism, and with full respect for the sovereignty of countries, the rule of law and international law. CICTE primary initiatives include: cybersecurity, maritime and port security, security in supply chain, cargo and container security, tourism security, UNSCR 1540 Implementation, and legislative assistance to combat terrorism financing.
