The Group of International Finance Centre Supervisors (GIFCS) is a long-established group of financial services supervisors with the primary interest of promoting the adoption of international regulatory standards–especially in the banking, securities, fiduciary, and AML/CFT industries.
While maintaining a close working relationship with the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the GIFCS has evolved to represent the interests of member jurisdictions for a range of banking supervision matters, AML/CFT issues, supervision of funds and securities activities, and the regulation of trust and company service providers (TCSPs). In the mid-1990’s the Group became an observer body attending meetings of the FATF, and is also a member of both the FSB Regional Consultative Group for Europe and the Basel Consultative Group.
