The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is the largest source of development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean region.
Through financial and technical support for countries working to reduce poverty and inequality, IDB works to improve health, education, and infrastructure. Their aim is to achieve development in a sustainable, climate-friendly way. Dating back to 1959, IDB is the leading source of development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean today, providing loans, grants, and technical assistance and conducting extensive research.
The IDB’s current goals includes three primary challenges: social inclusion and equality, productivity and innovation, and economic integration – along with three secondary objectives: gender equality and diversity, climate change and environmental sustainability, and institutional capacity and the rule of law.
