Community Investment Cooperatives (CICs) are cost effective, community-owned and controlled impact funds that support rural and urban economic and business development. These new, innovative investment vehicles enable residents to become partners in local economic development, effectively bridging the gap between local investors and local ventures in need of financing to promote stronger, more sustainable economies.
CICS have successfully financed ventures across Canada including affordable housing, renewable energy, sustainable agriculture and food production, locally-owned small business development, and community economic development projects.
